Your local Housing Commission and Housing Authority offer many rental assistance programs. There are also local affordable housing organizations that offer lower rents if you qualify.
Legal Assistance
If you feel your landlord is wrongfully trying to evict you, there are local tenant rights organizations that can help.
The government needs to focus more on renter rather than just homeowners these days. There are just as many renters as home owners in this country. I've had some success here http://www.helpwithrent.org with rent help, but overall, I'm looking for a more long term resource. Any advice would be appreciated.
My husband and I are struggling so bad. We have been late on our $740.00 rent every month since november 2008 and that's where all our money goes. We are expecting our first baby boy any day now and things have been so stressful...we desperately need help.
